Canoes, Water and Me

We will explore how to create FLOW with life instead of fighting, fleeing or freezing in life in this camp.

How are we like water? How can we adapt to the flow of life?

We all know that water is the most important element on our planet. Every living thing, from tiny cyanobacteria to giant blue whales, needs water to survive. Life would not exist without water, and wherever there is water you will find life

Your body uses water in almost every one of its parts and processes. Cells, organs, bones and tissues all rely on it – from transporting the building blocks of biology to evacuating the waste products left behind. Water lets us regulate our temperature, digest our food and transmit electrical signals to control our organs and muscles.

Hydration & Emotions

Being dehydrated throws off the delicate dopamine and serotonin balances in the brain, natural chemicals that can increase/affect depression and anxiety. One of the fastest and easiest ways to improve your mood is by drinking a glass (or two!) of water. Getting hydrated can quite literally calm your nerves.
